Kakia Catselli was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1964. She attended the Polytechnic of East London where she studied Art & Design and subsequently continued her studies at the Central Saint Martins School of Art in London where she completed a BA Honors in Fine Art during the years 1983-1986.
Catselli’s artwork has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in both Cyprus and abroad. Her projects include paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos, films and installations. She represented Cyprus in the Open9-International Exhibition of Sculptures and Installations in Lido-Venice in 2006, and in Florence Biennale in 2005 and participated in the ‘A Wonder Women Project’ at The Gowanus Studio Space in Brooklyn, NY. in 2011.
She was awarded with a first prize in the 50 years UEFA Stamp design in 2004. A member of ENCATC Europe, the Cyprus Chamber of the Fine Arts {EKATE} and of Visual Artists and Art Theorists Association–phytorio. (EI. KA).
